My daughter was suffering from anxiety, which affected her ability to get herself dressed and out of the house; this had a huge knock-on effect on our family as a whole, including siblings who often missed out as it was easier to stay home. Eileen provided a safe, relaxed and fun place for my daughter to play and receive the help she needed. Our lives have completely changed for the better; most importantly, my daughter is the happy, fun little girl she deserves to be.
I have a little girl aged 8 who has struggled for years with anxiety, particularly separation anxiety going into school, church or other activities. This anxiety caused much heartache and many tears and we literally tried all we could to help her. I must admit I was unsure about play therapy as I had no experience of it and wondered how it could possibly work when my daughter is was anxious and didn't know why...but all I can say now is WOW. Eileen has taken the time to play with and allow my little girl to 'heal' ...to find herself and her inner strength and confidence all through PLAY!!!. Our home lives are much easier now and I cry happy tears when I see just how effective this therapy is when everything else failed. Eileen...this is down to you love and compassion you consistently give in what you do. You have helped us as a family more than you will ever know. Forever grateful.
The best decision I made was sending my daughter to WayMaker. She had the best time with Zoe while gaining more confidence and independence in herself. I have noticed a huge difference in my daughter after play therapy.
I found waymaker details online when my son was experiencing difficulties after a tragic death of a close loved one. School was difficult as was trying to navigate support for him. Waymaker provided a safe space for him to explore and process what he was feeling, but it was so much more than that. I had already been searching for support and was advised to go into an autism assessment route which I didnt feel matched his issues. From the moment I spoke to Eileen I felt understood, and when play therapy began it changed the course for my son. Waymaker supported me I was applying for my sons statement, and engaged with his school in a helpful and professional manner, and signposted us onto appropriate services for his sensory issues. We are in a much better place now, and I'm so thankful I found this service when I did, it was a lifeline to us.
